Halt Medical integrates InnerOptic's AIM, Exhibits at AAGL

Hollywood, FL (November 6, 2011) – Halt Medical (Livermore, CA) announced and demonstrated 3D Trajectory Electromagnetig Image Guidance (3D TIG) at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopic (AAGL) 2011 conference. Halt's 3D TIG, a proprietary image-guided surgical technology, was developed specifically for the purpose of training and guidance of laparoscopic RF ablation of uterine fibroids. Halt has licensed InnerOptic's patented AIM™ guidance software and worked with InnerOptic to integrate AIM into the 3D TIG.

The advantages of Halt Medical's 3D TIG include:

  • Allows surgeon to train by practicing visualization of a target in the ultrasound beam and then approach the target with the ablation device in the same plane as the beam
  • The system does not require line of sight
  • Tracking is correlated to intraoperative ultrasound
  • Easy, intuitive user 3D interface
